Betty “Kitty” Johnson, MA, LIMHP, LADC, has been a provider of Accelerated Resolution Therapy since completing her Basic Training in 2024. She was frequently an assistant educational provider of ART from 2025 to 2026. Kitty has been a certified Master A.R.T. Therapist since September of 2025. She became a Certified ART Trainer in March of 2026.
Kitty uses ART therapy with clients of all ages and many different levels of psychiatric diagnoses. Ms. Johnson has been a psychotherapist since 1990. She earned her BA and MA in Educational Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1984 and 1990. She specializes in working with addictions and deep-seated trauma disorders set in motion by war, domestic violence, abuse, and deportation. She provides individual, group, marital, and family therapy.
“Accelerated Resolution Therapy has revolutionized the world of psychotherapy. I discovered the tremendous healing powers of ART in my own personal life, which removed the PTSD symptoms I had had all of my life. This happened in one session. Since then, I have been driven to attend as much training as I could so that I could not only help my clients with it, but also teach other counselors how it works. There is a big need in Nebraska for these trainings, as many have never heard of Accelerated Resolution Therapy. There is also a dearth of trainings offered in Spanish, which I intend to do come 2027.”
